Fairies like to drink from the leaves.
The leaves are fused around the stem forming a saucer-like shape that holds rainwater. I like to add them to smoothies.

I got so excited; I was ready to read more…very nice. The name of the plant is Teazel? It resembles a plant known as cactus in Jamaica. However, your post is short and sweet, especially your bio.

Yes; teazel. It is an invasive species in the united states. I imagine possibly related to the one you mentioned? In the summer it is decorated with yellow finches. Wilbear waits to capture that picture!
